The 2012 London Paralympics are a fantastic celebration of the achievements of Paralympians , their trainers and personal assistants from across the globe.

There are categories for each paralympian these categories are amputee, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, wheelchair, visually impaired, and Les Autres . Les Autres direct translation means “The Others”, in Paralympics terms these are paralympians with disabilities that do not fall into the other five categories; these range from congenital disorders to dwarfism and multiple sclerosis.
The paralympians have a variety of disabilities and also have teams of Personal Assistants. Throughout the Paralympics we will see Personal Assistants for many of the athletes in the games, their dedication and hard work with the athletes means that , in some sports, the Personal Assistants are also awarded with medals.

Here in Comfort Keepers Homecare, we provide Personal Assistants for clients with disabilities. Comfort Keepers Personal Assistant’s provide support with activities of daily living , environmental orientation , social activities interaction and more.
